Mum was tidying the pantry when she found some old jars.
Mum thought the jars would be useful and decided we would clean them up.
First we soaked the jars overnight in warm soapy water to help loosen the labels stuck on the jars.
The next day we checked on the jars and the labels had soften making it so much easier for us to scrape away the rest of the label and glue, once we finished cleaning the jars we dried them then filed them up with cereal toppings and seeds.
Mum was so happy with her new jars.

ReplyDeleteGreat idea Taya, very eco friendly. I love collecting glass jars too. Have you found any interesting ones? Keep posting what your up to, we love to see it :)
ReplyDeleteKa pai Taya! This is always a great idea instead of placing jars into the recycling bin. I often reuse jars to put my strawberry jam in that I make. Are you going to make some labels for your jars? Elizabeth K
ReplyDeleteKia ora Taya! That is such a good idea for reusing glass jars. It does seem such a waste to put them in the recycling bin, when there are so many other uses for them. Have you thought of making a glitter jar?
ReplyDeleteI love collecting jars and recycling them too. I making my own jam and pickles to go in them at the moment. The mixture of heights and widths makes an interesting display. If have you an other ideas for recycled jars I would love to hear them as I have 4 skinny jars I haven't used yet.
ReplyDeleteMīharo Taya, great to see what you have been doing with whānau during lockdown. What other things could you recycle and reuse?
