book club

Last week we started a book club with three or four people in a group. I have four people in my group. You where allowed to pick what book you wanted but I came the next day and the day before that is when they started so there wasn't as much groups left.
In book club we have these discussion tickets. On the sheet you have to find,  while reading ,one example of figurative language, your favorite paragraph and any unknown vocab. We also have roles like translator, illustrator, editor and publicist and together as a group decide on these.

Maths in Tangaroa

Today we went down to Tangaroa and did maths. In my group we did times tables on the computers. Mr Redmond set up a chart were we had to write down all are times tables up to 1x to 12x. The ones I get stuck on the most is my 9x and 8x and the ones I'm almost getting is my 4x and 6x but the rest I know. And this is what it looks like.

  Mau Rakau

This month we have been learning how to use a Mau Rakau. We have been learning lots of cool moves. It is so tricky though but it is so worth it. Next week on Friday we will be performing in front of the school at the school assembly. I'm so nervous but excited at the same time.

If you ever get the opportunity I really do recommend going even if it’s not really your thing, still give it a shot because you would probably never get a chance joking never say never.

We also do bone carving in the session right after we do Mau Rakau. So if you don't know what a bone carving looks a pounamu/green stone. And if you dont know what that looks like heres a photo of a pounamu and bone carving.

The monster under the bed

It all Started when when one night I was getting ready for bed. I was brushing my teeth when  I heard a small growl coming from my room. I thought it was just my cat until I heard it again but more louder. I walk down to my room with my eyes barely open. I was so terrified. I opened the door and my eyes fully and i could see nothing at all so i jumped up onto the bed and got all comfy. Until I heard a rumble Coming from beneath my bed. I grabbed my teddy And held it for as long as I could. ‘’Grrr’’ ‘’ ahh who's there’’  the monster reaches its big furry scaly hands. Don't be sceard of me says the big hairy monster ‘’what you can talk’’ yes i can with a frightened voice. Yes I can talk now go back to sleep and don't worry about me.

The next day. I woke up and ran straight to mum. MUM MUM THERE IS A MONSTER UNDER MY BED ‘’ don't be so silly’’ ugh mum come look there is a monster. I opened the door and went down on my knees and looked under my bed but there was no monster no nothing. I was so shocked. My mum just laughed “you must have been dreaming darling” but i wasn't mum i swear there was a monster RIGHT UNDER MY BED well i'm going for a walk see you soon hun. Ugh what but. Byee. 6 hours later I got ready for bed and looked under my bed. Omg there you are your back. Why did you leave. my mum probably thinks I'm an idiot. He didn't reply. Well i guess he doesn't want me to tell anyone. well i guess it just a normal thing now. THE END.

Don't throw out your jars :)

Mum was tidying the pantry when she found some old jars.

Mum thought the jars would be useful and decided we would clean them up.
First we soaked the jars overnight in warm soapy water to help loosen the labels stuck on the jars.

The next day we checked on the jars and the labels had soften making it so much easier for us to scrape away the rest of the label and glue, once we finished cleaning the jars we dried them then filed them up with cereal toppings and seeds.

Mum was so happy with her new jars.

Bike rides with my mum during lockdown

22 April

Every day me and my mum go for a bike ride or a walk. We normally go for a bike ride because it's more fun. When we go for a walk we just walk around the block or down to the shop and when we go for a bike ride We normally go through the Rawhiti domain and ride around the park. We even biked to Fresh choice one day to get some shopping. I enjoy biking in my neighborhood.
